McDONALD'S EDUCATES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Each year, the McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C., honor outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate leadership, character, exceptional scholastic skills, and volunteerism. McDonald’s believes it is important to recognize young people who try to make a positive difference in their community, and is proud to honor those students through the McDonald’s Educates Scholarship Program.

At least 56 student honorees each receive a $1,500 scholarship to the college or university of their choice and are recognized at an awards banquet each spring.

Requirements for applicants include a completed application, a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or community service leader, a high school transcript, and two short essays.

2010 marks the seventh year of the McDonald’s Educates Scholarship Program.  Over recent years, McDonald's has awarded over $1.3 million to local students through scholarship programs.

Please call (703) 741-7500 or visit www.McDonaldsEducates.com for additional details. The applications come out in January each year and are due at the end of March.
